We are seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator on behalf of our client in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This position requires a highly skilled professional to manage, maintain, and secure mission-critical systems in accordance with program and SSP requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale, high-security programs, with expertise in Linux environments and sensitive technical execution.
This role demands strong problem-solving skills, the ability to respond to security vulnerabilities, and experience managing complex systems for programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Administer, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems at an advanced level.
Implement, manage, and maintain all aspects of STE (Secure Terminal Equipment) systems.
Coordinate and ensure compliance with SSP requirements, including vulnerability tracking and mitigation.
Respond to Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and implement security patches and mitigations in a timely manner.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize reliability and efficiency.
Maintain detailed technical documentation for systems, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
Collaborate with program and engineering teams to ensure system compliance and mission readiness.
Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
Substitution:
Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted in place of a bachelor’s degree.
Extremely proficient in Linux system administration.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with STE systems.
Experience coordinating with SSP requirements and responding to CVEs.
Ability to manage secure systems in a highly classified environment.
Must hold a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
