Position Overview

We are seeking Systems Engineers at multiple experience levels to support complex, mission-critical systems within a classified environment. This role supports large-scale, distributed systems handling high-volume, multilingual, and multimedia content and requires strong systems engineering fundamentals, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate across integrated product teams.

Candidates may be considered at mid, senior, or principal levels depending on experience, with responsibilities scaled accordingly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and lead systems engineering efforts for mid-to-large scale programs

  • Develop and manage system requirements including performance, availability, scalability, security, and maintainability

  • Support architecture, integration, deployment, and sustainment of distributed systems

  • Lead or support Agile and/or Spiral development models

  • Integrate and extend COTS and GOTS products across multi-vendor environments

  • Support secure, compliant system design aligned with legal, policy, and compliance directives

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and system artifacts

  • Collaborate with users, stakeholders, and cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)

  • Support planning and deployment of storage, retrieval, backup, and retention strategies in clustered and cloud environments


Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

  • 5–20+ years of experience in Systems Engineering supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

    • Senior/Principal Level: Twenty (20) years of experience with demonstrated experience planning and leading systems engineering efforts

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline

    • Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

  • Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to complex systems engineering initiatives

  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with large-scale multimedia and multilingual content processing systems

  • Experience with distributed peer-to-peer storage and retrieval systems (500+ nodes)

  • Expertise in metadata indexing, summarization, analytics, visualization, and data mining

  • Experience designing system performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements

  • Experience integrating COTS and GOTS products from multiple vendors

  • Experience implementing storage area networks, data warehouses, and data marts

  • Knowledge of distributed storage routing and querying algorithms

  • Experience optimizing high-throughput, globally distributed storage and retrieval systems

  • Experience deploying storage solutions in clustered or cloud environments

  • Experience planning and implementing secure, compliant systems aligned with policy and legal requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience with HDFS, Hadoop, HBase, Accumulo, or BigTable

  • Experience interacting directly with users and working in cross-IPT environments
