Systems Engineer – IDAM / ICAM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support a large technical development program consisting of 200+ FTEs supporting mission-critical Attribute Services within the Identity, Credential, and Access Management (IDAM/ICAM) space.

The Systems Engineer will work closely with a large, highly technical team of developers, software engineers, data engineers, and other systems professionals. This role will support the full systems lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system integration, cloud infrastructure, security accreditation, release management, and Tier 3/4 technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support system buildouts, testing, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Perform requirements decomposition and allocation.
  • Ensure system designs are compatible with established architecture and allocated segment requirements.
  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and technical challenges to automate and improve existing systems.
  • Evaluate system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Identify system integrity issues and develop solutions throughout the full system lifecycle, from concept through disposal.
  • Integrate systems and services and effectively summarize and communicate results.
  • Support the development, documentation, and implementation of system policies.
  • Support ATO and accreditation activities for customer systems and applications.
  • Provide Tier 3 and Tier 4 technical support to internal teams and the customer base.
  • Provide release management support, including deployment readiness, coordination, and execution.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours deployment activities, typically once or twice per month from approximately 5:00 PM–9:00 PM.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree and 16+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 10–13 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with cloud environments, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Linux administration experience.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with ServiceNow (ESP).
  • Strong understanding of the security accreditation process.
  • Experience with security tools, frameworks, and processes, including:
    • RMF
    • NIST
    • Xacta and/or GreenLight
    • System scanning
    • Vulnerability scanning
    • Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) tracking
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide advanced Tier 3/Tier 4 technical support.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting IDAM / ICAM systems.
  • Experience with:
    • Authentication
    • Authorization
    • Attribute Services
    • Entitlement Management
    • Digital Policy Management
  • LDAP experience.
  • Security+ and/or CISSP certification.
  • AWS certification.
  • Experience with BPM/BAW.
  • Experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
  • DevSecOps experience.
  • Experience with CLSE.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior-level Systems Engineer who can operate comfortably across systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, Linux administration, cybersecurity/accreditation, and release management. Experience supporting IDAM/ICAM or identity and access management environments would be particularly valuable.
