Protocol Analyst - Level 3

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

A skilled Protocol Analyst (Level III) is sought to support high-impact mission objectives. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in signal analysis and network data characterization, particularly those familiar with deep packet and bit-level protocol analysis. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and be able to pass additional vetting requirements.


Salary Range:

  • $141,000 – $167,000 (USD) annually

  • Final compensation will be based on factors including education, experience, location, and skill level.

  • Additional performance bonuses and benefits may apply.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform bit-level protocol analysis using specialized tools and techniques.

  • Utilize Proforma, Packetswing, and Linux command-line environments (such as CASA networks).

  • Conduct deep dives into packet structures, signal flows, and data tagging processes.

  • Apply training and experience in signals analysis, particularly from formal military programs.

  • Support mission-critical activities requiring deep understanding of communications signals.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Proforma

    • Bit-level analysis

    • Packetswing

    • Linux command line (CASA environment)

  • Familiarity with or completion of military training courses:

    • 450, 451, 452, or Military COMINT Signals Analysis Program (MCSAP)

  • Additional vetting may be required for candidates with CASA-related experience.


Education & Experience Requirements (one of the following):

  • Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of relevant experience

  • Associate’s degree + 10 years of relevant experience

  • High school diploma or GED + 12 years of relevant experience.

    Acceptable degrees include Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, or other related technical fields.


Relevant Experience Must Include:

  • Signals analysis related to communications signals

  • Bitstream and waveform analysis

  • Protocol analysis, network troubleshooting, and traffic characterization

  • Network security analysis


Security Clearance:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this role.
