Salary Range: $174,000 – $206,000 (USD)

A high-impact opportunity is available for a Cloud Software Engineer to support the installation, configuration, monitoring, and sustainment of operating systems and application software for large-scale, clustered systems built on cutting-edge cloud technologies. The role involves hands-on work with systems leveraging technologies such as COPILOT, ACCUMULO, PIG/PIGLET, SPARK, and Hadoop (HDFS and MapReduce).
Install, configure, test, administer, and troubleshoot cloud-based clustered systems
Sustain application software and operating systems in large-scale environments
Support mission-critical infrastructure using cloud platforms and big data technologies
Leverage technologies including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, and HDFS
Work with NoSQL data stores such as HBase, Accumulo, or BigTable
Implement solutions involving JSON/BSON data serialization formats
Design and develop Object-Oriented systems
Integrate and extend FOSS/COTS software products
6+ years of professional experience using the Java programming language
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree)
Experience in at least 4 of the following areas (see Desired Skills below)
Must hold an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance

Application deployment in cloud environments
Knowledge of cloud scalability principles
Apache NiFi
MongoDB or other NoSQL data stores
Design and development of automated analytic software or algorithms
Development and deployment of data-driven or event-driven analytics
Familiarity with linguistic processing (grammar, morphology, concepts)
Analytics development related to social network analysis
Documentation of ontologies, schemas, data models, APIs, or technical specifications
Development within heterogeneous schema environments
Strong problem-solving skills in distributed environments
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, secure environment
Comfort working with open-source and commercial software integration
Excellent communication skills and technical documentation ability
