A full-time opportunity is available for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize software solutions that address complex data and user requirements. This role involves researching, building, and enhancing computer and network software as well as specialized utility programs. The engineer will analyze user needs, apply software engineering principles, and work collaboratively with other specialists to integrate systems, develop specifications, and enhance performance.
This position requires a proactive, technically proficient individual with strong experience in data manipulation, ETL development, and automation.
Research, design, and develop software solutions based on user needs and system requirements
Enhance existing software capabilities and maintain application-level databases
Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define system specifications and integration requirements
Maintain and optimize data pipelines, focusing on efficiency and automation
Implement ETL workflows using modern platforms and programming languages
Ensure software solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices
10+ years of directly related experience in software engineering
Master’s degree (M.A./M.S.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
High-level proficiency in R and/or SQL for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation
Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines
Experience using tools and languages such as Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, and PL/SQL
Proven ability to automate data processes and optimize data workflows
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance
Experience working with the Advana data platform
Proficiency in extracting text from PDFs and Word documents using tools like pymuPDF, PyPDF2, or PDFMiner
Familiarity with cloud-based data structures such as AWS S3, delta tables, and external tables
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
