Mid-Level SAP HANA Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level SAP HANA Database Administrator to join a dynamic IT team supporting mission-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing SAP HANA environments, ensuring system performance, availability, and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business operations.
Database Administration:
Administer, monitor, and optimize SAP HANA database instances.
Manage backups, restores, and recovery procedures.
Perform system health checks and proactively address performance issues.
Performance Optimization:
Analyze database performance and implement optimization strategies.
Troubleshoot query performance issues and fine-tune system configurations.
System Upgrades & Patches:
Plan and execute SAP HANA updates, patches, and upgrades.
Validate changes and minimize downtime during maintenance activities.
Security & Compliance:
Enforce database security, user access controls, and data protection policies.
Monitor and audit access logs for potential security issues.
Automation & Scripting:
Develop automation scripts for routine database tasks.
Maintain monitoring tools and streamline operations using scripting languages (Python, Shell, SQL).
Capacity Planning:
Plan for future storage and performance needs.
Optimize database storage and usage efficiency.
Documentation & Collaboration:
Maintain technical documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting.
Contribute to disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience as a DBA with a focus on SAP HANA.
Strong knowledge of SAP HANA architecture, installation, and configuration.
Proficient in backup/recovery, high availability, and performance tuning techniques.
Experience with SAP HANA tools (e.g., SAP HANA Studio, SAP HANA Cockpit).
Familiarity with SAP HANA monitoring tools (e.g., SAP Solution Manager).
Experience in scripting (Python, Shell, SQL).
Understanding of database security and compliance practices.
SAP HANA certification (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA).
Experience with Linux and/or Windows server administration.
Familiarity with data warehousing and BI concepts.
Experience with other databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
