General Laborer - Construction

Job Title: General Laborer
Location: LeRoy, MI
Hourly Rate: $15-$25/hr

Job Description: As a General Laborer in Leroy, MI, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the worksite. Your primary role will involve assisting with physical labor and providing support to other team members. Hours currently are four 10-hour days/ week with the possibility of overtime. Must be able to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities:

1. Physical Labor: Perform various physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects or materials.
2. Construction Support: Assist skilled workers with their tasks.
3. Site Preparation: Help prepare the worksite by clearing debris, setting up equipment, and securing materials.
4. Equipment Operation: Operate basic tools and equipment, such as drills, saws, shovels, or forklifts, as required and trained.
5. Material Handling: Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment using appropriate techniques and safety measures.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
7. Follow Instructions: Follow directions and instructions given by supervisors or team leaders to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety concerns.
9. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality in workmanship and ensure tasks are completed to specifications.
10. Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to accomplish daily goals and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.
11. Must be able to perform work from more than 15' off of the ground, as work involves building pole structures such as pole barns and this requires working at heights.

Requirements:

1. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects, as the job may involve manual labor and repetitive movements.
2. Stamina: Possess the endurance to work on your feet for extended periods and perform tasks that require physical exertion.
3. Basic Skills: Familiarity with common tools and equipment used in the industry is preferred, but on-the-job training may be provided.
4. Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions carefully and pay attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in work.
5. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices and willingness to follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
6. Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a positive team environment.
7. Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
8. Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing work demands and perform various tasks as assigned.
9. 5+ years of experience 
10. Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
